haha, luv the show, but y is lupe always whining about downloaders? “Let’s play the song they already downloaded.” wtf is that? GET OVER IT, LUPE! ur just making urself sound like a bitch. plus, i bet not that many people bothered to download superstar. it’s not even close to being a hit. i havent heard it on the radio once and i only saw the video on tv the day it was released. u need to save ur ass by releasing a better single ASAP.
just my thoughts. peace.

uhhhh haqq, yeah, i like Lupe’s music obviously. that’s y i’m on here… but that doesn’t mean i like every song, and that doesn’t change the fact that most people haven’t even heard superstar. so, it’s not a hit. period.
delonte - November 25, 2007 at 8:06 am |
That depends how you define ‘hit’. If it’s purely on musical quality (as it should be) then you’re an idiot for judging it on how many mainstream music listeners think it’s good – by that regard Soulja Boy etc are ‘hits’. As judged on it’s musical and lyrical quality Superstar as undoubtedly been declared a hit by punters, reviewers, DJ’s and everyday listeners.
I don’t know where you live but Superstar is on high rotation here (Australia) on Triple J, the station with the highest ratings for people aged between 18-36.
If you’re complaining it’s a bad song because you don’t hear enough on the radio, 1) Try a new station?
2) Shut up, because you’re obviously in the minority and it’s still an awesome track.

“Hit” has never been defined by how good the song is. And as far as musical quality goes, how good is superstar?….honestly, it’s okay….
Yes, soulja boy made a hit….a very bad hit, but this conversation has nothing to do with him.
i never said superstar was a bad song. all I’m saying is that i haven’t heard it on the radio and I live in D.C., which is a major market. Superstar isn’t anywhere near as big as Kick, Push. So, if Lupe’s goal with is this album is to “sell more” (as he said himself), then he’ll fail miserably unless he releases a better single. “Paris, Tokyo” has way more potential.

superstar is #85 on the billboard charts. that’s lower than kanye’s flashing lights (#75ish), which hasn’t even been released as a single yet.
